Improve your Cat’s Health and Well-being With Wall Mounted Ramps and Perches

With wall mounted ramps and perches you can make their favorite spots more comfortable and introduce new spots. Ramps also provide relief to cats after they’ve been de-clawed. Climbing comes second nature to cats but when a de-clawed cat tries to climb he slips, slides and tumbles down. He doesn’t understand why he can’t climb and this damages his mental well being. Ramps and perches counter balance this disorder. De-clawed cats can easily grip the carpet and climb to their favorite spot, jump from ledge to ledge and act like a cat which restores confidence.

Earlier this week I bought the sandpaper for the perches and a concrete grindstone perch for my budgies nails?

But I just noticed that one of them has really long nails that curl up. Will these items be able to file these nails effectively? I’m scared to cut their nails because I don’t want to accidentally hurt them. The pet store does not know of any vets in my city. What do other bird owners do?

With nail clippers, trim off the very TIPS of the nail: careful not to cut too much off. If there is any bleeding that means you have cut too much off and a bird can very easily bleed to death. In the event this does occur, have some cornstarch or flour on hand and immediately dip the nail (entire foot probably) into the vessel containing the cornstarch/flour. This should make the blood clot and stop the bleeding.

Those perch covers are used on dowels. Dowels are one diameter- which is totally unnatural- and therefore not at all healthy for a bird’s feet. Put no more than a single dowel in the cage. Natural branches are much healthier. A bird needs perching options (choices). You can purchase sand-covered natural manzanita branches. These are much better for budgie’s feet. Concrete perches are not reccomend because they (1) totally dry out the feet and (2) are cold and remain cold as stone. The manzanita branches have wood on the inside and are NOT cold on the bird’s feet.
